Summer is waning . . .

Pokeweed berries are ripening

Jewelweed is blooming

And, it is fungus season

I call this one the potato chip fungus, but I have not keyed anything out yet.

I think lots of others will be popping up soon – it has been warm and very humid. I saw some jack-o-lantern fungi recently, but did not have my camera ready. Below is a specimen from last year.

They are pretty bright.
