Once upon a time . . .
June 4, 2020Once upon a time, when libraries were open, we traveled to the Cleveland Public Library’s main branch – not really a branch. This treasure in the heart of downtown is the tree from which all of the branches spring.
There we found not only impressive collections of books, but also wonderful architecture, sculpture, prints and special objects.

These staircases are in the main hallway of the library,
Right inside the main entrance this lovely globe chandelier hangs.
To focus on just one of the special collections, there is a room of chess sets. This one is my favorite.
Near the gift shop (yes, the library has a gift shop) you will find a huge piggy bank. I am told that it is suitable for riding and photo ops.
I will save the magical Eastman Reading Garden for another post.
I am heartsick.
