I used to work for a coal company – mostly I made maps.
I never saw one of these machines in action, but in addition to deep mining, one of the methods of accessing coal (or other material) is open pit mining. This video shows an open pit mining machine in operation – a walking dragline, which I think is pretty impressive.
It is Tuesday, so here are some tattoos – all ready for the orange paint!
